David Southgate

Managing Director

David established Southgate Consulting in 1999, following 14 years in Recruitment and Executive Search.  During this time, he has worked on many individual and multiple projects for clients in the UK, Europe and Overseas, and continues to take pride in personally managing programmes at all levels from Managing Director to Graduate Trainee.

Sonia Stretton

Client Services Manager/Senior Consultant

Sonia joined Southgate Consulting in 1999, working closely with David and the team on all projects.  Previously being responsible for all the candidate contact management for major clients, as well as arranging interviews and assessment centre programmes, she is now managing recruitment assignments within all disciplines of Automotive Manufacturer/Importer, Retail and key Automotive supplier sectors.  Additionally, she is qualified to evaluate Thomas International Psychometric tests.

  • Favourite Movie: Pulp Fiction
  • Last Book Read: Re-read the Twilight series – I know, how sad?!    
  • Favourite Music: Anything with a beat really that I find catchy and can have a bit of a dance to – and yes it includes cheesy music!!
  • Interests: Line Dancing (but not the “yee-haa” you’re probably thinking!!), Zumba, Eating, Family, attempting to get fit (Spinning, but it hurts!!)
  • First Car: Green Vauxhall Viva – loved it!!!

Jo Tomlin

PA to Managing Director

Jo brings over 18 years experience in administration joining Southgate Consulting in 2005. Her PA, office administration and reception work is a cornerstone of the business and a positive approach to both client and candidates enquiries is experienced by all who contact Southgate Consulting.

  • Last Book Read: The Time of My Life – Cecelia Ahern
  • Favourite Music: Anything from 60’s/70’s/80’s
  • Interests: Reading, Crafts, Socialising, Eating Out, Cinema, listening to Music
  • First Car: W registration Ford Fiesta which leaked when it rained and you had to shout to be heard once it reached 50mph but I loved it!!!!
